  Do You Use Floride?

  i'm a believe in non-floridation because i believe that the introduction of toxins into our bodies does nothing but harm us in the long run.

  fluoride has shown up in the blood of newborn babies and given that it affects the neurological systems, and given the fact that parents are warned not to mix formula with tap water in some areas or allow children under the age of 6 to use fluoridated toothpaste, you have to wonder who is making all the money on the product.

  i watched a report on this just the other day where a dentist was saying that cavities are down in the popuation but what she didn't point out was all the casualities showing up now with tooth enaml wore off, tooth discolouration, bone loss and some cancer links.

  What first comes to mind is a kingdom hall scene full of WT carrying salt and pepper greased haired men in suits and glasses and middle aged women in glasses and floral print dresses and curly helmet hairdos. And, it's always on a Sunday. I always had a hard time imagining anyone at the hall with outside lives or in street clothes.

  if you are going to follow the bible like the jw's claim, then at least follow all of it !.

  1 cor 14:34,35 " let the women keep silent in the congregations, for it is not permitted for them to speak, but let them be in subjection, even as the law says.

  if, then, they want to learn something, let them question their own husbands at home, for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in a congregation.".

  Excellent use of sarcasm! If JW's truly followed the Bible (They sure don't follow Jesus!), then the women would be expected to do all on your list. As it is, instead of following the ancient and Muslim way of treating women, they see that women bring in a lot more money to the WTS if they are "alowed" a "little" freedom.

  How do angels and demons influence mankind?

  wts publications, and indeed virtually all religions on this planet, assert that angels and demons have regular influence on mankind, on individual human beings as well as on the general course of human events.. but i've never read anything specific about how they supposedly accomplish this.. do they tweak our neurons?

  do they fiddle with our hormones, thereby making us feel good or bad about a certain course of action?

  do they inject thoughts into our brains, perhaps in such a subtle way that we think those are our own thoughts?

  Interesting question that makes the death penalty and jail/prison look even more unfair if the Devil indeed did do it. Shouldn't people be waiting on God to kill the Devil for the evil in the world instead of taking it out on individuals who were mere puppets and under the Devil's control? Demons are stronger than people are. That's not fair!

  we found this quiz after reading the book parenting beyond belief and sweetpea and i decided to take the challenge - afterall how difficult can 50 bible questions be for us born and brought up as jw's?.

  our results were enlightening to say the least - we both scored 28/50 - not exactly brilliant although apparently above average.. take the quiz and post your results and comments..

  Two things are wrong with this test: As JWs, we weren't allowed to use the KJV but the NWT so we wouldn't know the terminology of the KJV. The other thing wrong with it is that it said I chose wrong answers when I clearly remember choosing some of the right ones. It also said that some of the ones I did get wrong were gotten wrong by different answers than what I actually chose. I passed with a 29/50. If it was given using the NWT, we would probably have done much better.

  BETHELITES - Whatever Became of?

  i often times wonder what happened to certain bethelites that i ran around with during my 1990s tenure there.

  while there are still a few left there, the greater majority of them aren't there for various reasons (marriage, disillusionment, left the borg, etc).

  a couple of cats i wonder about - there was one brother who i believe was from kansas, who got his fingers cut off in a printing press.
